(Re: death cert. of Mary Ann Coker Morgan)...I have a copy of the death certificate in front of me right now (sent to me a few years ago by Lynn), and I think the confusion lies in the handwriting where the "name of father" box is. If you "squint" or look at the name Coker in a certain way, (which is actually written like CoKer), the capital K can look like an "r" and a "t." It then becomes easy to presume the "o" is an "a." But the name is actually Coker.

...the certificate is indeed #2584 (although there is a #5251 scribbled out just above this), and it specifies the following:

Date of Death: Sept 20, 1923 (11pm).
Sex: Fem.
Color or Race: C
Status: Married
Date of Birth: Sept 9, 1844
Age: 79 yrs., __ mos., 19 ds.

...I don't have anything on the marriage of Eliza Jackson, nor any other
information about her. (But I would LOVE to! I have often wondered about
her connection to the other Jacksons. This is a whole unexplored branch
for me, and could potentially add a whole 'nuther bundle of
inter-connections for me!)
