Research assets on web sites 'Mitsawokett'
and
some from Lynn Jackson's 'Moors & Nanticokes'

Mitsawokett is intended to assist the descendants of the original people of Delaware find their ancestral families, whether Lenni Lenape or Nanticoke. Their allied ancestral African, Iberian or other European lines will be mentioned but not further persued, being beyond the scope of this site's research.

A cautionary note: Much of the information contained on these pages is hearsay information obtained verbally or by e-mail or letter. Some is copied from official documents. Researchers should be cautious about accepting secondhand information from these pages without checking its accuracy against primary sources. Copying may introduce error; certainly oral history will, too.  The best source is a record created at the time a birth, marriage or death occurs.  But oral history, with all its faults, will continue to be vital to our attempt to construct the story of our Native American past.
