He was 66. Elson was born in Lewes on Jan. 7, 1941, son of the late Marcella and Harley Johnson.

He received all of his education at Johnson and Jason schools. Elson loved his tools; as we all know, Elson would buy tools and have the same ones in one of his many buildings in his yard or in his van. After his education, he became employed with James Julian Construction Inc. and after retiring, he continued to work as a handyman. Whenever Elson was in need, his wife, Barbara was right there. Elson was associated with Harmony United Methodist Church and St. John"s Baptist Church. He was very devoted to helping both churches with his carpentry skills. As we all know, he loved to build, build and build. Elson loved children. He always loved buying someone else"s child a gift. He truly loved his godchild, Eurecka Briddell. On Sunday while at Christiana Hospital, all he wanted was to be "saved," as he did accept Christ in his heart as his personal savior.
