Mosley Sanchez, age 32, of Fort Dix died Saturday at her home.
Born
in Vineland, the daughter of Virginia Brown and the late Albert Gary Mosley
she was the wife of Tony Sanchez. She had lived at Fort Dix for the past
three years and prior to that was stationed in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Kristine was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in
active duty from 1990-1999.
In addition to her mother who lives in Missouri and her husband, she is
survived by two daughters, Miranda and Lizabel Sanchez, at home; a brother,
Albert G. Mosley Jr. and his wife Chitra of Missouri; a step brother,
Joe Haines of Runnemede; two step sisters, Melissa Hand of Arizona and
Nancy Gribble of Millville; her maternal grandmother, Delores Brown of
Vineland; uncles, Alfred Brown and his wife Jeanne of Vineland, Charles
Mosley and his wife Pat and Raymond Mosley of Hopewell Township, Waldon
Mosley and his wife Donna, Donald Mosley and his wife Helen and Harold
Mosley and his wife Nina of Quinton and Bruce Mosley of Florida; aunts,
Susan Brown and Patricia Hughes of Vineland, Betty Durham of Bridgeton
and Kelly Uhland, Rose Osborne and Tracy Bacon all of Florida, three great
aunts, Anna Cuff of Bridgeton, Elmira Hughes of Millville and Leona Cronick
of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her step mother, Flora Haines.
Funeral
services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway
#77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will
take place in the family plot at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends

Harry
B. Sanderlin, 54, of Salem died suddenly at home Monday. Born in Salem,
son of the late John and Charlotte Pierce Sanderlin, he had lived in Vineland
for the last 13 years with his sister, Charlotte Diaz, prior to moving
back to Salem. Mr. Sanderlin was a boiler operator at Mannington Mills.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and a past member of VFW
Post No. 253 Cpl. Joseph C. Toulson; Eagles Lodge No. 1966, Salem; and
American Legion Post No. 75, Salem..
In
addition to his sister, he is survived by five brothers, Samuel of Trenton,
Robert of North Carolina, Daniel of Salem, Richard of Florida and Paul
of Puerto Rico; and five more sisters, Emma Donaldson and Betty Boxwell
of Florida, Margaret Clark of Cedarville, Lorraine Timmons of North Carolina
and Betty Snyder of Salem.
Services
are private. Burial will be in Finns Point National Cemetery, Pennsville
Township. Arrangements are by Woodside Funeral Home, Salem.

B. "E.D." Sanders of Dover died Friday, July 11, 2003, in
Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 68. Mrs. Sanders
was born June 11, 1935, in Dover, daughter of Gladys Morris of Cheswold
and the late Herman Durham.
On May 26, 1966, she met the love of her live, Billy James Sanders. They
were united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1966. This 37-year union was referred
to as "The happiest years of her life." Mrs. Sanders was a faithful
homemaker who devoted her time caring for others. She obtained the nick-names
"The Neighborhood Watch" and "Meals on Wheels" because
of her caring nature. During her leisure time, she found enjoyment in
long Saturday afternoon rides with her devoted hus-band. She liked stopping
and shopping at various produce stands and restaurants. Mrs. Sanders attended
various churches. She was a faithful promoter of the Christian Travelers
gospel singers.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glendon "Sonny" Durham
and Richard Durham; a son-in-law, James E. Dukes; and a great-grandson,
Jayviere Sanders. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived
by three daughters, Lorraine Dukes and Danette Sanders, both of Dover,
and Jacqueline Bishop of Baltimore; a son-in-law, Johnny Bishop Sr.; her
stepfa-ther, Thomas Morris of Dover; two uncles, Raymond and Creed Morgan;
two sisters, Delores Mays of San Antonio, Texas, and Loretta Morris of
Maryland; a brother, Joseph Morris of Dover; a sister-in-law, Essie "Teen"
Durham; a brother-in-law, Garrett Mays; seven grandchildren, Misty, Billy,
Tonya, Carla, J.R., Jennifer and Tiffany; six great-grandchildren; and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be noon Wednesday in Union Baptist Missionary Church, Dover,
where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be in Sharon Hills
Cemetery, Dover. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.

M. Sanders, 23, a resident of Seeley-Beals Mill Road, RD 1, died Monday
afternoon at the Wilmington Medical Center from injuries suffered in a
car-train accident in the Bridgeton area a month ago. Mrs. Sanders was
born in Aldine, the daughter of Robert P. and June Pierce Morris, and
was the wife of Ellie G. Sanders. She had been employed at the Venice
Maid Company, and more recently had worked at the Wheaton Glass &
Plastics Company, in Millville.
Surviving
in addition to her husband and parents, are daughter, Dianna Lynn, at
home; three brothers, Robert P. Morris, Jr., of Aldine, Ira H. Morris,
of Dilley, Tex., and John H. Morris of Cedarville, and four sisters, Mrs.
Christine Santiago, Bridgeton, Mrs. Douglas Sanders, of Seabrook, Mrs.
Ruth Ploucher and Miss Linda Morris, both of Aldine.
The
Rev. Harry E. Call, pastor of the Calvary Temple, Salem, will conduct
the funeral services on Friday at 2pm from the Garrison Funeral Home,
43 Fayette Street. Interment will be at Fernwood Memorial Park. Friends
may call Thursday from 7 to 8:30.

Edward C. Saunders, 62 yrs., of Cedarville, died in Cooper Hospital/Medical
Center, Camden, on Monday, December 19, 2005. He had been in failing health
for the past 10 months. The husband of Martha Williams Saunders, he was
born in the Springtown section of Greenwich Township and was the son of
the late Elmer C. and Harriet Gould Saunders.
He
had been a Cedarville resident since 1968 and prior to that had lived
in Fairton. Edward was a self employed carpenter. he had formerly been
employed with Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville and at the former Rainear's
Diary and Major Clothing Co. in Bridgeton. He was a member of New Hope
Baptist Church in Cedarville.
Besides
his wife, survivors include: one son Vience E. Saunders and his wife Charlene,
Fairfield Township; one daughter, Audra J. Saunders and her husband Kenneth
Goodwin, Cedarville; four sisters, Mary Hughes, Dover Del., Deletha Mosley,
Fairfield Township, Pauline Cole, Fairfield Township and Joyce Chambers,
Texas; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by three brothers, Elmer C. Saunders, Stanley Saunders and Herman
Saunders and two sisters, Ida Hogan and Margaret Pierce.
Funeral
services will be held in Union Baptist Temple, South Pine & Willow
Streets, Bridgeton, on Monday, Dec. 26, at noon. Burial will be in Cedar
Hill Cemetery, Cedarville. A viewing will be held in the church on Monday

M. Saunders Sr., 63, of Lawrence Township, died Monday at his home.
His death was sudden and unexpected. Mr. Saunders was born in Greenwich
and was the son of the late Elmer and Harriet Gould Saunders.
He
had lived in Lawrence Township for 34 years and prior to that had resided
in Fairton. Prior to retiring 8 years ago, she had been employed with
the former Price Label Co. in Bridgeton for 16 years. He also enjoyed
farming and his family and friends.
Survivors
include his wife, Emma Ridgeway Saunders, one daughter, Cheryl L. Rodman,
Lawrence Township, one brother, Edward Saunders, Cedarville, four sisters,
Mary Hughes, Dover, DE, DeLetha Mosley, Fairton, Pauline Cole, Fairton
and Joyce Chambers, Philadelphia, Pa and two grandchildren, Rosalyn Rodman
and Scott Rodman, both of Lawrence Township. He was preceded in death
by a son, Herman M. Saunders, Jr., two brothers, Stanley Saunders and

the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on South West Blvd.
The husband of Chitima McArthur Saunders, he was born in Bridgeton and was the son of Joseph M. Saunders
of Cedarville and the late Linda Brown Saunders. He had been a resident
of Vineland for 8 years and prior to that
had resided in Camden.
Joseph had been employed with Consalo & Sons Produce in Vineland for the past 7 years.
Besides his wife and father, survivors include: two sons Joseph M. Saunders,
III and Nassir Saunders, both of Vineland; two daughters Jaitima Saunders,
Vineland and Rejoyce Cropper, South Carolina; two step-sons Rafael Gonzalez

Jake" Saunders of Upper Deerfield Township. Leon was the son
of the late Leon and Malvema (sic) Saunders, and the husband of the late
Sara Hughes Saunders.
Prior to retiring on disability, he was employed by Cumberland Nursery
in Fairfield Twp. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and
a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians. He attended the

21, 2004 in Renaissance Nursing Center, Bridgeton. She had been in failing
health for the past five years. Mrs. Saunders was born in Port Norris
and was the daughter of Alonzo Brown Sr. and Thelma Slater Brown of Newport.
She had been a Bridgeton resident for 10 years and prior to that had lived
in Cedarville. She was a member of Unity Fellowship Church of Millville.
Besides her parents, survivors include her husband, Joseph Saunders of
Vineland; four sons, Michael Saunders of Vineland, David Saunders of Williamstown,
Leon Saunders of Millville and Jimmy Saunders of Bridgeton; four brothers,
Curtis Johnson of New Castle, Del., James Brown of Mississippi, Jerry

Morris L. Saunders, son of the late Leon and Malvenia Gould Saunders,
was born May 20, 1932 in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Morris departed this life
Friday, January 16, 2004 in the Central Regional Hospital Sanford, Florida.
Mr. Saunders moved to Sanford, Florida twelve years ago from Bridgeton,
N.J. He was formerly employed by Bradway Trucking for over 30 years before
retiring.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Reuthena Smith Saunders, a son
David Saunders, of Cocanut Creek, Fla., five daughters, Carrie Saunders,
Bridgeport, Conn., Rosemary Saunders of New York, N.Y., Isabel Collins

25, 2005 affectionately knows as 'Tex'.
Beloved
husband of Mary Bryan Pierce Saunders. Russell served in the U.S. Coast
Guard from 1944 to 1946 and was a truck driver with Camden Lime Co. for
20 years. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 676 and the American
Legion- Post 473 of Camden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by

"Billy" David Saunders Sr., 63, of Millville, went home
to be with the Lord on May 23, 2007 at his residence after an extended
illness. Born in Seabrook, N.J. to the late Leon and Malvinia (Gould)
Saunders, he was a food processor for Aunt Kitty¹s (formerly known
as Venice Maid) where he just recently retired from in 2007.
Billy
leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Annette Saunders;

Elizabeth Perkins Seaton of Dover, formerly of Chester, Pa., died
Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in Churchman Village Nursing Center, Newark.
She was 93. Mrs. Seaton was born in Greenwood.
She
was a homemaker. Mrs. Seaton was a faithful member of St. Peter"s
Non-denominational Church, formerly Spencer Memorial U.A.M.E. Church,
Chester, where she was at one time the secretary and a member of the Missionary
Ministry. Mrs. Seaton loved her church and sponsored many trips and enjoyed
planting beautiful flowers around the church. Her early education was
in the Greenwood, Bridgeville and Seaford areas. She moved to Chester
and graduated from the Chester School.
She
was the daughter of the late George E. Sr. and Nancy (Smullen) Perkins;
widow of the late John S. Seaton, who died Jan. 4, 1992; and sister of
the late Fred Perkins, George Perkins, Simeon Perkins, Herman Perkins,
Harry Perkins, Norman Perkins, Ellen Jackson, Jane Thompson and Elsie
M. Payne. She is survived by three nieces, Elsie Stewart of Wilmington,
Dorothy E. May of Dover and Vivian Freeman of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.;
three nephews, George Perkins and Robert Perkins, both of Wilmington,
and Tyrone Perkins of Sandy Hook, Ky.; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews
and cousins; a devoted brother-in-law, Spencer "Bill" Seaton
of Chester; a sister-in-law, Bernice "Bootsey" Smith of Chester;
a nephew, Judge Spencer Seaton and his family of Chester; and three special
lifelong friends, Julia Sykes, Annabel Wright and Pearl Fontaine, all
of Chester.

Senec, age 80, of Vineland died early Tuesday morning, July
11, 2006 at South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center where she
had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in declining health for
the past year. Born in Paulsboro, the daughter of the late Henry Durham
and Geneva Walford Clehm she was the wife of Paul Senec. She had been
a Vineland resident for 56 years, moving
there from Bridgeton.
Doris
had previously been employed at the former Rainbow Glass Company in Norma,
Wheaton Glass Company in Millville and
the former Seibel & Stern Clothing Company in Bridgeton. She deeply loved and enjoyed her
grandchildren.
In
addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Bachman
of Dorothy and Joanne Boggs of Vineland; a stepson, Glen Senec of Dennisville;
a brother, Kenneth “Duke” Durham of Fairton; three sisters, Hazel Whildin
of Santa Monica, Calif., Lorraine Saunders of Palmdale, Calif. and Betty
Christian of Fairton, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was
predeceased by two brothers, John “Junior” Clehm and Ellwood Durham.

Evelyn
Beatrice Handy Shelton of Millsboro died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001,
in her home. She was 83.
Mrs.
Shelton was born June 19, 1917, in Berlin, Md., the daughter of the late
Bertha G. Selby and Thomas James Handy.
She worked at the Swift Poultry Co. in Georgetown for many years. She
retired 15 years ago from the U.S. Postal Service in Millsboro. Whenever
you saw her in the post office you were greeted with a loving smile and
a kind word. She was also a caretaker for many years at St. Mark's Episcopal
Church Parish Hall in Millsboro.
Mrs.
Shelton was a lifelong member of Harmony United Methodist Church, belonging
to the United Methodist Society. She was a church usher and communion
stewardess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, John Wesley Shelton Sr., in 1977.
She
is survived by two sons and their wives, the Rev. John Wesley and Lois
Shelton Jr. of Abingdon, Va., and William Sylvester and Audrey Shelton
of New Haven, Conn.; a daughter and her husband, Elizabeth and Ronald
Geary of Yeadon, Pa.; four sisters, Theodosia H. Irvin of Greenwood, Loretta
Handy, Mattie Handy and Josephine Wilson, all of New Haven; two sisters-in-law,
Marie Handy and Mildred Shelton of Millsboro; a brother-in-law, Thomas
Shelton of Millsboro; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Oliver Sisco Sr. 1903-2001
Cornelius
Oliver Sisco Sr. of Chestertown, formerly of Quaker Neck, died Friday,
Aug. 10, 2001, in Magnolia Hall Nursing Center, Chestertown. He was 98.
Mr. Sisco was born Aug. 10, 1903, in Skinner Neck, outside of Rock Hall,
son of the late Wesley and Mary Boyer Sisco.
He
was exposed to normal grade schooling afforded by blacks of his era. However,
he was educated in the world of work, hard knocks and experience. This
life education endowed him to give counseling to his children, grandchildren,
great grandchildren, friends and strangers. He enjoyed the rural setting
of his birthplace, but never ventured far from home. Mr. Sisco's employment
as a waterman, farmer and yardman fortified him with faith, hope and the
assurance that "I'll be all right". Old watermen don't fly away.
They simply sail from shore to shore. There he goes, here he comes.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret
Etta Graves; three brothers, Clarence, Rossie and Elwood; three sisters,
Halley, Clara and Gertrude; and a daughter, Margaret Thompson.
He
is survived by two sons, Cornelius Oliver Sisco Jr. of Quaker Neck and
James Edward Sisco of Washington Park; three daughters, Mary Iola Bacon
of Bloomfield, N.J., Shirley Ann Jones and Darlene Benita Roberts of Worton;
two sons-in-law, Marvin Jones and Paul Roberts of Worton; two daughters-in-law,
Beatrice Sisco of Quaker Neck and Carol Sisco of Washington Park, 20 grandchildren;
18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will
be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where friends may also call two hours
earlier. Burial will be in Church Cemetery Pomona. Arrangements by: Walley
Funeral Service, Chestertown.

George
Moses Sisco of Rock Hall died Friday, May 4, 2001, in Kent & Queen
Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. He was 65. Mr. Sisco was born in Rock Hall,
son of the late Moses and Virginia Sisco. He attended the public schools
of Kent County, Md.
Before
his retirement, he was employed in Delaware as a construction worker.
He attended Aaron United Methodist Church, Rock Hall, where he sang with
The Inspirational Men of Aaron. Mr. Sisco was a member of Local Labor
Union 199.
He
is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sisco of Rock Hall; three children,
Monica Sisco, Sheldon Sisco and Myron Sisco, all of Chestertown; a stepson,
Wilbur Wilson of Georgetown, Del.; a brother, Marvin Sisco of Rock Hall;
a sister, Yvonne Sisco Burdon of Vista, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends
may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today at Aaron United Methodist Church, Rock
Hall. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, where
friends also may call two hours prior to the ceremony. The Rev. Carol

Program Obituary: Beulah
M. Smith was born in Cheswold, Delaware on August 6, 1896. She was
a daughter of Charles H. Mosley and Annie E. Dean Mosley and was the eighth
of twelve children. Beulah grew up in the Immanuel Union Methodist Church
of Cheswold.
In
her late teens, she moved to Wayne, Pennsylvania and joined St. John's
A.M.E. Church where she met and later married Joel C. Smith. Of this union
were born two children: Kathryn Lorraine Smith and Joel C. Smith, Jr.
Around
1920, they moved to Philadelphia where they became members of St. Matthew's
A.M.E. Church, and later moved back to Wayne, Pennsylvania where they
built their home and renewed their membership in St. John's A.M.E. Church.
She
was a diligent worker in the Sunday School and various other church organizations.
Among her community activities was board member of the Neighborhood League
of Wayne.
There
was an early attempt to segregate the Tredyffin Township Schools. She
was active as a leader in curtailing this attempt along with assistance
from Raymond Pace Alexander.
Seven
years after the death of her husband she moved to Lamott to live with
her daughter and family and immediately transferred her church membership
to the Lamott A.M.E. Church where she became an active and devoted member.
Beulah
is survived by her son, daughter, three grandsons and two great grandchildren
and a host of relatives and friends.

January 26,1994, our beloved mother and grandmother, Rose Elizabeth
Spivey departed from this earth. We are blessed to carry on her spirit.
She was born on January 17,1922 in Media, Pennsylvania.
She
graduated from Bartam High School and later married Johnson Spivey. From
this union came eight children: Rose, Rowena, Johnson, Joseph, Gilbert,
Beverly, Wanda, Karen, and one step-son, George.
Rose
was a supervisor for the Social Security Administration. In her retirement
years she devoted her time to her family, traveling and the arts. To everyone
she met she expressed the importance of higher education, and appreciation
of the arts.
She
lived with dignity, pride and self-respect. She exemplified the beautiful
qualities of life where ever she went. Rose in her beauty and elegance
was truly a floral essence.
She
was the driving force of her family, compassionate, warm and loving person.
Her deeds with her friends and those in need will always be remembered
with love.
Our
beloved Rose leaves behind seven children, 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren,
three sisters, Dorothy, Flora and Muriel; two sisters-in-law, Mabel and
Gertrude; three sons-in-law, Marvin, Teklu, and Charles; nephews, nieces
and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carolyn
Starrett of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in her home, surrounded
by her immediate family. She went to be with the Lord after a two-year
fight against breast cancer. She was 57.
Mrs.
Starrett was born in Shelby, Mich., the daughter of Eleanor and Charles
Wright, one of four children. She attended college at Indiana Wesleyan
in Marion, Ind., where she met her husband, the Rev. Robert W. Starrett.
Mrs. Starrett and her husband served churches in Indiana, Maryland, New
Jersey, and four churches in Delaware, both retiring on July 1, 1999.
She
loved life, the God she served, her family, young children and music.
Mrs. Starrett was instrumental in starting the Wesley Preschool and Day
Care at Wesley United Methodist Church, where she taught for 17 years.
She also founded the Children's Choirs at the Wyoming United Methodist
Church. She was an avid singer and pianist; leading children's choirs
and singing faithfully in the adult choir at Wesley, Wyoming and Ebenezer
United Methodist churches. She founded the Children's Choir. She finished
her teaching career by serving nine years at St. Marks UMC pre-kindergarten.
In
addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Laurie Lyn
Starrett of Dover and Christie Carol Starrett of New York City; a son,
Robert Charles Starrett of New Cumberland, Pa.; a granddaughter, Sabrina
Lyn Gonzalez of Dover; a sister, Shirley Hayes of Flushing, Mich.; and
two brothers, Robert Wright of Shelby, Mich., and Richard Wright of Los
Angeles.
Service
will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, on the corner
of State Street and Loockerman Street in Dover, where friends may call

Nathaniel
John Edward Stevens Sr. of Dover died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, in Westminster
Village Nursing Center, Dover. He was 77. Mr. Stevens was born Feb.
11, 1922, in Parkers, the son of the late Bertha Stevens and James Cartwright.
He
served in World War II, achieving the rank of sergeant. Mr. Stevens
worked for many years at Dover Air Force Base as a labor supervisor for
the John Furge Co. He was known for his ability to master difficult
tasks and move through obstacles to achieve positions that were not available
to men of his years. Mr. Stevens was known for his keen ability
to dress and was always wearing a sharp hat. He was an excellent cook
and loved fine automobiles.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers, James Stevens and Thomas Stevens;
and a sister, Margaret Adams. He is survived by five children, Nathaniel
J. Stevens Jr. of Clayton, Thomas I. Stevens of Dover, Douglas A. Stevens
of Hartly, Cynthia M. Stevens of Dover and Larry J. Stevens of Sewell,
N.J.; three brothers-in-law, William Mosley, Leroy Mosley and Orville
Mosley; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Stevens and Diane Stevens; two sisters-in-law,
Agnes Hutchins and Catherine Stevens; two nieces; five nephews; nine grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins.

Obituary: Eulalie L. Steward, 91, of Hopewell Township, died Sunday
in Cumberland Manor. Mrs. Steward was born in Hopewell Township and was
the daughter of the late Eli Loatman Sr. and Annie Concealor Loatman.
The wife of the late E. Emerson Steward, she had been a lifetime resident
of Hopewell Township.
She was a teacher by profession and prior to her retirement in 1980, she
was a reading teacher and had taught in the Bridgeton School System in
South Avenue, Cherry Street and Vine Street Schools. She was a graduate
of Hopewell Township High School, Class of 1928 and in 1930 graduated
the former Glassboro Normal School. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal
Church where she had been a Lay Reader and was a member of the church
choir and Episcopal Church Women. She was also a member of Hopewell Township
High School Alumni and enjoyed writing, poetry and photography. In 1983,
she was awarded Distinguished Alumni of Glassboro College.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mollie A. Steward, Hopewell Township
and one brother, George Harmon, Bridgeton. She was preceded in death by
two brothers, Harry Loatman and Eli Loatman, Jr. and six sisters, Maude
Durham, Julia Durham Seeney, Mary Loatman, Edna Vaughan, Sallie Miller
and Anna Loatman.
Rev. Dr. Edward E. Martin Jr. will read the Burial Office and celebrate
a Requiem Eucharist at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 186 East Commerce
St., Bridgeton, on Thursday evening at 7:30. Interment in Broad Street
Cemetery, Bridgeton. Friends will be received Thursday between 6 and 7:30
p.m., prior to the services in the church. Funeral arrangements are under
the direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Township.

I report that my Aunt Eula, sister to my mom, Sara Loatman Miller, died
on Sunday after, April 7, at 2pm, 2002 at the Cumberland County Manor
in Bridgeton, NJ. She is survived by her daughter and only child, Mollie
Steward.
Eulalie
was the last survivor and youngest of Eli Loatman Sr and Anne Concealer's
children. She would have been 92 in June of this year.
There
will be a viewing from 6:30 to 7:30pm on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at St
Andrews Episcopal Church in Bridgeton. There will be a service following
the viewing in the church. The burial will be on Friday morning.

Obituary: Frank Steward, 75, of Bridgeton died Friday in Cumberland
Manor.
Born
in Bridgeton, son of the late Frederick and Charlotte Gould Steward, he
had been employed with Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for many
years. After his retirement in 1984, he worked for Cumberland County College
for seven years in the maintenance department. He was an Army veteran
of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Fordville
United Methodist Church, the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians of Bridgeton,
the Quarter Century Club of Owens-Illinois and the Onized Club. He was
a former member of Colonial Riders Motorcycle Club.
Surviving
are five grandchildren, Teka, Tonia, Louise, Latasha and Aaron; and four
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Isbella Louise (nee
Robinson) a son, Jeffrey; six brothers, Stephen, Raymond, Leon, Percy,

Louise Steward, 71, of Bridgeton died Saturday morning in South Jersey
Hospital System, Bridgeton Division.
Born
in Kent County, Del., she moved to Cumberland County at an early age.
She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Isabella H. Driggus Robinson.
She was owner and operator of Steward’s Beauty Shop for 37 years, retiring
in 1994. She was a long time member of the St. John United Methodist Church,
Fordville, where she was a member of the usher board. She also was a member
of the Nanticoke Leni-Lenape Indians, South Jersey Beauticians Association
and the Colonial Riders Club. She was a 1943 graduate of Bridgeton High
School and a graduate of Apex Beauty Culture School of Philadelphia.
She
is survived by her husband, Frank Steward; a son Jeffery Steward of Bridgeton:
a sister Mary Ridgeway of Fairfield Township; a brother Albert B. Robinson
of Fairfield Township, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and
nieces and nephews.

will be held Tuesday at noon in St. John United Methodist Church, Fordville,
with Pastor Fontain Shockley officiating. Interment will be in Fordville

Leon Steward Jr Junior of 225 S. East Avenue died Saturday in Our
Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. Born in Vineland he was a Bridgeton
resident all his life and was the husband of Alice M. Steward and the
son of Bernice P. Steward of Bridgeton.
He
was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Co for the past 32 years. Mr. Steward
was a member of the Ionic Lodge No. 40 of Bridgeton, president of the
Ionic Square Club, a first degree Eastern Star, a member of the Townsmen
Club and a past member of the Bridgeton Fire Department. He also served
on the Bridgeton Human Relations Commission.
In
addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, James Leon 3rd
of Toledo, Ohio; a daughter Daffney Marie Pierce of Bridgeton; two brothers,
Harold of Bridgeton and Floyd of Toledo; a sister Jacqueline Wise of Toledo,
and five grandchildren.
Services
will be held Thursday at 8pm from Mt. Pisgah Union American Methodist
Episcopal with the Rev. Dr. Andrew A. Watson officiating. Interment will
be made in Gouldtown Memorial Park on Friday at 10am. Friends will be

Sunday in Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland Division, Galloway Township.
Born
in Morristown, son of the late John A. and Elizabeth VanOrden Stewart,
he lived most of his life in Salem and Mannington. Mr. Stewart worked
at DuPont’s Plant I, Carneys Point Township, until retiring in 1976 with
32 years of service. He attended Broadway United Methodist Church,
Salem.
Surviving
are two sons, E. Gene Stewart of Carneys Point and Robert W. Jr. of Mannington;
a brother, William of Florida; two sisters, Katherine of New Jersey and

Durham Stewart of Dover died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, in the Hospital
of the University of Pennsylvania. She was 77. Mrs. Stewart was born Dec.
16, 1926, in Kenton, daughter of the late Elmira Durham Fisher and Leonard
Grigsby.
She
was educated at Booker T. Washington School and Delaware State College.
She was employed as a health care provider until her retirement in 1990.
Mrs. Stewart moved to Katie B. Jackson Senior Citizen Complex in West
Philadelphia in 1991 and became treasurer of the Tenants Council and enjoyed
participating in a variety of activities. She was always available to
those who needed her. She was also affiliated with the Eastern Star in
Philadelphia.
In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold
James Stewart; and her sister, Phyllis Durham Dangerfield. She is survived
by four nephews, Ronald Thorpe of Dover, Joe Brown and Ricky Brown, both
of Syracuse, N.Y. and Darryl Durham of San Francisco; three nieces, Esther
Brown and Sandra Stevenson, both of Dover, and Elizabeth Holland of Philadelphia;
and a host of relatives and friends.

Walt “Pierre” Strickland, 43, of Bridgeton,
went home to be with the Lord peacefully, Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at the
South Jersey
Healthcare-Regional Medical Center,
Vineland, N.J.,
after an extended illness. Born in Bridgeton,
N.J., to the late Joseph Eugene Colson
and Ella Versey Williams, he was a laborer for
Local No. 415, Pleasantville, N.J.,
where he was a shop steward.
Pierre
enjoyed his dogs, spending time with his family, especially his daughters,
and hosting large family cook outs. Pierre
often prayed after accepting Christ into his life.
Pierre leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Evelyn
“Sharon” Strickland; his mother, Ella Williams; three daughters,
Zaleen (Ivan) Heigh-Concepcion,
Shavon Loatman, and Madison Pierre
Strickland; one stepdaughter, Tashelle Lee;
five brothers, Duane Strickland, Joseph Colson Jr., Wayne Colson, Adam
Colson and Jeff Colson; 8 sisters, Versey Williams,
Stacy Williams, Laura Colson, Kim Colson, Narissa
Goldsborough, Shawn Carter, Shannon Williams, and Patricia Dixon; three
grandchildren, Makalah Loatman,
Kamori Lee, and Amora
Baker; two godchildren, Iakeena Dairsow
and James Brown Jr.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
A Friday night viewing will be held at the Edwards and Son Funeral Homes,
Inc., 208 E. Commerce St., Bridgeton, N.J., from 6-8 p.m. Services will
be held Saturday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Union Baptist Temple, Willow and Pine
streets, Bridgeton, at 10 a.m., where friends may view 1 hour prior to
services. Interment will be held at the Fordville
Cemetery, Fairfield Township,
